Internet presence

I was wondering if anyone offers their clients a discount for posting reviews or liking their social media page? I was trying to think of some tricks to help build up an Internet presence. I don't remember the last time I opened a phone book. Every time I search for a business is with my smart phone

I used to show up on page 3 or 4 and I had very little work, I hooked up with this company and they charge me $99/ month. Now I come up on page one at or near the top
the extra work more than pays for the $99/ month. Folks who want the name of the company PM me

Use Google to search for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and you can easily learn to manipulate your own site so that it appears higher in the organic searches on site like Google for free.

Save the $99 a month and learn a little while you are at it.

Reviews are great and we do ask our customers to leave them if they wish, but I'll never pay for them.

Heck, there are plenty of companies that will do review blasts for you on hundreds of sites for under $20 if you just want to give money away.

I realized the company I do work for doesn't show up on Google maps. So I made a Google+ account and a bing business page.

I mean who uses a phone book anymore, even an online one.

Last few times I wanted to use a phone book, I couldn't find one. I used the internet instead and I was very disappointed, as I know the business I was looking for was actually still in business, but I couldn't seem to find it online. Last year the local phone book guy came around and I was only too glad to give them $400 for a small ad that says "I'm The Only Locksmith In Town" I made real good & sure that they will not be hosting any scammers and only putting real, actual addresses in their book.

We have a problem with scammers here. The phone book is filed with fake call center numbers. That's the nice thing about Google maps, they send a post card to the addresses you list before they finalize you business lIsting. Aka no spam. .. bur also a lack of real lockshops because they don't know how to set up an Internet listing

Putting an ad in the phone book is flushing money down the drain.
All inquires are online, through google, bing is worthless for local search.
If you are not on the 1st page of google your business might as well
not even exist.

P.S. Buying Google reviews from customers is against Google's TOS.

I work a a company which builds SEO software. the key is now which page.. it's which words you target to appear on the first page..

there are MANY ways to improve your rank in google.. everything from local vs mobile vs national search engines, to linking all your social media accounts, to targeting which words are actually searched for in specific location. Eg.. in your "local" area "locksmith" may be searched for LESS the "Copy Keys", so you need to target the words which are search for more..

There is both an art and a science behind modern day SEO.
