I've found that the non-slimline ones get very cumbersome when attempting to pick locks with heavily warded or small keyways - sometimes the tang of the pick touches the pins, which isn't something you want to happen generally, othertimes the thick tip of the hook (which is the pick that I use mostly) disturbs other pins if you don't hit the pin right on.
besides, the slimline ones will open anything that the normal ones and even some that they can't - so I'd say if in doubt, get the slimline ones. or at least get the standard ones with a slimline hook and diamond on the side.
but that's just my Opinion.
Oh look! it's 2016!
