I have found that Peterson and Sparrows picks that are 0.025 thick are barely too thick for American locks, but will glide in if you polish them up a bit. So instead I use the Peterson Euro Slenders at 0.018 thick. Not only is this great with Americans but 0.018 is excellent for most euro cylinders as well. a set of 10 picks will run just under $70.
However, I have recently bought the Tremendous Twelve Pick Set from TOOOL.US, for $30, and it comes with 6 picks, and 6 tension wrenches, and I am VERY pleased with it. Not only did a lot of engineering and research go into the profile of those picks, but they used different alloys compared to the normal 301 Stainless everyone else is using. These are very thin, i dont have a micrometer to tell you how thin but they are comparable to the 0.018 thick petersons.
