Welcome Bob.

While I cannot help with the combination, I did dig mine out of my collection to confirm the correct orientation of the stamp on the shackle. While holding the lock with the dial facing away from you, rotate the lock 90 degrees to the right, so that the shackle is to your right. Read the number in its correct orientation.

At one time I had a sheet of combinations from the factory for these locks - so many moves ago that it is long lost. I recall that the code given was the count of "clicks" one would manipulate the dial to open the lock. If you notice, the dial has a fixed stopping point. Given a combination of 865 for example, you would turn the dial to the right until it stops, left 8 clicks, right 6 clicks, and left 5 clicks and the lock would open.

Good luck.

Thank you for that information. In that case my number on the shackle is 869. If anyone else has a combination sheet that would be helpful!

I swear I saw a list of combinations, either averagejoe or gwiens2001 posted it here somewhere or at http://www.antique-locks.com forum

This 12MB .doc file is a good read on identifying which model you have but I dont think it lists combinations.

There might have been, but it would have been removed.

OP, you can ask your question over at AL, or contact Oldbiscuit or Wylk over there.

Hello I have two Gougler locks that I have been attempting to get the combinations for but I can't figure it out and I don't have a book. On the shakle one is numbered 267 and the other is numbered 7237. I sure would like to get my hands on the code book for these click combination locks but if anybody has the specific codes to my two locks that would be much appreciated.
