While I cannot help with the combination, I did dig mine out of my collection to confirm the correct orientation of the stamp on the shackle. While holding the lock with the dial facing away from you, rotate the lock 90 degrees to the right, so that the shackle is to your right. Read the number in its correct orientation.
At one time I had a sheet of combinations from the factory for these locks - so many moves ago that it is long lost. I recall that the code given was the count of "clicks" one would manipulate the dial to open the lock. If you notice, the dial has a fixed stopping point. Given a combination of 865 for example, you would turn the dial to the right until it stops, left 8 clicks, right 6 clicks, and left 5 clicks and the lock would open.
