Okay, this is also up on Clearstar. So here is the dope --
My cousin needed a padlock taken off a unit, it turned out to be a U-Haul discus type. Tried picking ... in this COLD? My hands got frost bit in about 10 minutes. not good at 70 ... So I decided to drill the thing. Got out the Dewalt, and a 3/16' bit and put a hole in it. The plug broke in half and came out! Goodie!! Now to insert a screw driver into the hole and flip it over .....
Not so fast. That took quite a few minutes of trying to turn ???||| something down inside. I got it off, and she put another on on. So ..
I brought the lock down here in the office and have been screwing around with it trying to duplicate what I did out in the cold. So far no soap.
Okay, so what is the secret? IM if you can't say in the forum. I will keep on trying to flip this thing over if i have to go out and do it again - but - really -- it should have opened when the plug came out and the guts were now open to something getting in there and turning the mechanism and the bolt to open ...
