My parents recently passed away, and while going through the house, I realized that I can't find a key to this lock. I don't even know what it's called to try to google how to open in. I'm hoping someone here can help me identify it and point me in the direction to get it open. Photos: https://imgur.com/a/gLiZztzThank you! Doc

Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

An interesting post. The lock is simple, but unless you've seen one before, the mechanism is a mystery.
Nice that this forum brings up such oddities.

I have a small Version, You can make Key out of a wiper blade, fold over like a tall U, then push into the 2 Parallel slots, it will push 2 retainers apart to open.

You mean it will push the two retainers together to open. Gordon

It may be together, just remember when I got it a couple years ago, that tool would work.
