When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Made from wiper inserts. Took about 1 hr using a dremel type tool off ebay for £8. Wish I'd hung around this forum more before ordering the 22 pce Southord set.

Thanks Mr Ules. They work a treat. I thought having no handles may be a problem but its not at all.

That would probably give you the most feedback.

Mr Ules, They give great feedback after all theres no difference in the way these are held and the way handled pics are held.

Yeah, the most feedback does come from non handled picks. The catch is that they are a pin in the a...hand.
Anyway, these picks are very, very good. Excellent work.

Thanks for that link. And those pics would be great. I'm heading over to a friends place this weekend who has a power grinder, so i just gotta go pick up some hack saw blades and i'm set.
Thanks

Lol, yeah I thought of putting a blob of that filo modeling clay on the end. But if I'm using long enough that they hurt its time to resort to the gun.

Yeah, but I was thinking of practice. Most of us never spend that much time at a customers door unless they have a lock that you can't use the gun on, or drill.
Some customers are a bit cranky that way.

Romster, I know what you mean. When I first started I got a seg on the end of my finger. Now I use my left and right hand alternately to hold the pick 'cos I came up against a lock that was in corner that made it difficult for me to pick with the pick in my right hand. Also I find that if I'm struggling with a lock I go make a coffee take break and can pick it much easier after. So no more segs or blisters.

Yes, I am bragging. Sorry.
I was trying to find another sample test I made, but I couldn't find the thread. I can post the picture again if you actually want to see it.

Oh, that's not necessary. Actually, even though I was bragging I want people to realize what they can do if they try. Those were made with a belt sander, a common 5" bench grinder and a regular hand drill.
Everything is possible.
