what javagamer says is also very common with american locks, but I do not apply additional tension with the tensor, I wait until Im ready to restart then I use a small straight blade screwdriver to give the plug a little push and it often proves that the lock was picked but not indicating it by turning.
Using your tensor to check for this is wrong in two ways, one is that the tensor can become tightly bound between the plug and the cylinder wall, and this will not turn the plug at all, the second reason is that you will want to refrain from bending your tensor more than it is already.
