proposed updates on the 'MIT Guide,... videos' thread in 101

Postby CurioPiKXzz » 27 Dec 2004 13:26

hey, i just decided to do an update on the thread, since apparently some of the links dont work anymore, and i as a newbie had difficulty finding some of the stuff...

if any of u guys have any more updates for the links in the thread (/viewtopic.php?t=588), perhaps u could chime in as well?

firstly, a tip for all those folks who run linux (or any unix-like os), and have mplayer with the 'Real.com Streaming Libraries' support - to download all the defcon videos (all streaming urls work, but not the 'download' http urls), use 'mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile <filename> <rtsp-url>'

2ndly, i think the ftp 'ftp://lockpicking:101@nickz.homeftp.net' doesnt work anymore. (was this supposed to host the PYRO video?)

the pyro video url - available here - http://hyatus.dune2.info/Old_School_Baby/m00fm00f/ (*various other stuff may be available here as well - including Jason Lynn's "popcan shim" video)
Some updates by Pyro on the information/tips given in the video (especially about the tension tools) - see his post here - viewtopic.php?t=1882

**Things that i didnt manage to find:

- Title: "Master lock #40, by almightyares" master40.avi

- Title: How a lock works
http://noroeste.linenoise.info/almacen/ ... icking.mov

- the "plac3bo files" (nope!!! not available at http://hyatus.dune2.info/Old_School_Baby/m00fm00f/)

- quote:

kopspijkers.wmv
http://noroeste.linenoise.info/almacen/lockpicking/
QuickPickings.WMV
======== (??? so these two files can be found at the same location?)
