Simple Wardrobe Lock Picking NEED QUICK HELP!

Hey guys, I'm new here and am also new to lock picking. I read through the different things but am still really clueless, however, my problem does not seem to be covered in here. I have a wardrobe closet that actually houses my TV set, dvd player, tivo unit, etc. I locked it recently because of a house party I had seeing that I didn't want anything ruined or taken. Now, it seems that I have lost the key and I can't get it open! It seems to be a very simple lock, it was not made for security but more decor. It has the normal skeleton key opening (circle on top with the line going down). Only other thing is that it has a little point in there (the key had a hole that the point fit in). I really don't know how to get past it and don''t really have any lock picking tools. Any help is appreciated and I may be able to get a picture if needed. Thanks in advance!

well do you remember what the key looked like? did it have several different cuts on it, making it look jagged or stepped? or was it just a solid piece sticking off, kinda looking like a handcuf key?

A small L shaped peice of wire should open this lock or maybe 2 together.

I've had a few of these recently, and they can be buggers to open due to the restricted keyways. These can be single levers, or multiple levers.

As Toomush says, try L shaped wires first. I've had more success using dental picks though.

If you have a digital camera, it would help us more so we can see what it looks like, but so far, your explanations have been detailed.

Remember, you can make tools out of almost anything, so long as they are tough enough not to break in the keyhole. For a pick, you can use a safety pin and bend the tip a little. You can file it down to make it thinner to get past that tricky pin. For a tension wrench, you can use spring steel from a windshield wiper blade or anything else that comes to mind. Ok, I have used many different household picks, but my main problem is this stupid pin! It won't let me make a full rotation in the lock itself. Thinking about the key, I think it was a solid thing with no notches. Also, I have a picture which isnt the best of quality but should give you all the idea of what I am working with...

Do me a favor, retake the photo, focusing, and instead of using the flash, try using a small flashlight to expose the wards and the inside of the lock itself.

Then we'll go from there.

That looks like a simple single lever lock.

What you have to do is make 2 lever picks out of coat hangers. - search the euro lock section for pictures of them.

seing as the bolt withdrwas from turning the key clock wise, put the tension tool inup side down, so that the point is facing the bottom of the keyway, then turn it as you would to the key and get the pick to put tension on the talon ( the notch in the bolt that that the tip of the key turns when you open the lock )

use the pick to lift the lever(s) up and the lock will open .

ehh.. you know since it just had one not comming off of it, you may be able to aquire a replacement key that'll work with it. or get more creative with your tools. failing that, I'd pry the thing open, I can't go without TV.
