When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Warded Picks

Could anyone tell me some tricks to using warded picks? Also has anyone made any from scratch?
To pick... or not to pick... That is the question.
also, if you pick your nose in public...please use light tension!

They are just desgined to bypass the wards on warded locks. Just insert and turn. Pretty simple.

warded picks

Postby raimundo » 27 Jan 2005 11:12

the simplest ones are skeletonized keys, with all the non operating parts cut away, I once hammered a master lock key flat to make one that would fit all keyway curtain varients, hammering will widen the thing, so you will have to file away the width also. you will need a flat file. if you use other material for the piece make sure that you can harden it against twisting along the shaft.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

Are you referring to the key or the lock? Also, if I were to take a warded key and file all but the two teeth on the end, would that make a good pick?

yes, if you file down all the notches on a master warded lock key you will end up with a "master" key to all of the same types of master locks, possibly more
