So I managed to get a hold of a few different Schlage cylinders (I believe they were removed from deadbolts--got them off eBay) and I thought to myself, "Self, it would be nice to make a cut-away cylinder out of one of these."
So I did.
Here the key is inserted and the plug is turned, so all the driver pins are lined up:

So, what do you think? I like the idea of a cut-away Schlage because it's a better-quality lock than most cut-aways for sale out there. I'm hoping it'll give me a better feel of what's going on inside the lock when I'm trying other picking styles. Now I just need a way to mount it.
I'm thinking about making a few more of these and selling them on the forum. It takes quite a while to make one (a little under a couple hours), but I enjoy it and I could use the extra cash to buy more locks (note the irony). Would anyone be interested in them?
