since the everest has a pretty simple trick to it, it seems like a special tension blade could be made to solve that for all varients, the problem hasn't come up even once for me, though I have a couple of the cutdown common type keys made to apply tension with in some kit somewhere, it seems that the keys have a cut on the lifter ridge (made that terminology up on the fly here) just to make it non applicable as a renegade primus blank.
