I have had great success bumping locks. As I have previously posted, I prefer to cut what is called a "10 10 10" key as it seems to work better when you have a lock that is pinned at a deepest cut. This can easily be done by taking a piece of shim stock of the desired thickness you want to increase your depth of cut and place it underneath your blank and then cut your key by code to the deepest cuts for the lock you are bumping. You can also create a 10 10 10 key from a 999 key by doing the same thing with a duplicator, just insert your shim under the blank to be cut.

I have also found that like what has been mentioned before, what you use to strike the bump key with makes a huge difference on the success you will have!!. I really need to get some bumping videos posted, maybe I will do that when I get some spare time
