Well... you could get a pinning kit with a selection of springs and simply replace them. But, a new lock is probably cheaper than a pinning kit.

...or consider this lock's pins and springs a starter kit for building your own kit.

Hp  You need to get a following tool if you want to do that. It also help to pull the plug in a bag.

The bag idea is a very good one. One, I never thought of before!!!

A following plug is a dowel the same diameter as the plug the goes in behind the plug as you pull it out of the cylinder. The idea is to capture the top pins and the springs inside their wells so that you keep them in place during the dis/reassembly.

To put things back together, you'd load the spring and top pin (using tweezers) and advance the plug follower in one pin at a time to hold the previous one in place.

Once all the top pins are in place with the plug follower... you can pin the plug (to the key) and use the plug to carefully push the plug follower out.

Generally, if care is taken, you don't lose/damage the pins or springs. A bit late now... but... handy info for the future.

Cheers

Thats not as bad as what I did a few weeks ago. I took apart all the parts to a mortise cylinder and while reassembly I made a huge mistake of installing the driver pins in first then the springs. I cannot tell you how confused and (eventually) embarressed I was of my own stupidity. I had no choice but to force the plug to turn with a pair of pliers and destroy all the springs to pull it out once i had figured out what I had done.

or you could go to your local lockpicking store and ask for springs. They would usually give it to you for free.
